Career and Life
Amit Shah is widely regarded as the principal strategist and organizational architect of the modern Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He began his political career by joining the ABVP and later the BJP in 1987. His long-standing political partnership with Narendra Modi began in Gujarat. He served as a five-term MLA in the Gujarat Assembly and held key ministerial portfolios, including Home, during Modi's tenure as Chief Minister. He rose to national prominence after his masterful strategic handling of the BJP's campaign in Uttar Pradesh for the 2014 General Elections. He served as the National President of the BJP from 2014 to 2020, during which the party achieved unprecedented electoral success across many states. Since 2019, he has held one of the most crucial roles in the Union Cabinet.
