Career and Life
Akhilesh Yadav is the current National President of the Samajwadi Party. Born in Saifai, Uttar Pradesh, he is the son of political veteran and SP founder, Mulayam Singh Yadav. He was educated at Dholpur Military School in Rajasthan and holds degrees in Civil Environmental Engineering from the University of Mysore and a Master's degree from the University of Sydney, Australia. He began his political career by winning the Lok Sabha by-election from Kannauj in 2000. Yadav served as the 20th Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh from 2012 to 2017, taking office at the age of 38, making him the youngest person to hold the position at that time. Following the 2022 assembly elections, he served as the Leader of the Opposition in the UP Legislative Assembly until June 2024, when he resigned to focus on parliamentary duties.
