Career and Life
The Aam Aadmi Party was born out of the 2011 Indian anti-corruption movement (led by Anna Hazare). Its founder, Arvind Kejriwal, an activist and former bureaucrat, sought to translate the movement's demand for a strong anti-corruption ombudsman (Jan Lokpal) into political action by entering the electoral arena. The party's core ideology is defined by: Anti-Corruption: Rooted in its founding purpose. Welfarism (Kaam Ki Raajneeti - Politics of Work): Implementing a delivery-based governance model focused on providing free or subsidized essential services. Populism & Secularism: Appealing directly to the "common man" with a focus on practical issues like electricity, water, education, and health.
